On January 1, 1986, D&D Air Conditioning opened its doors in Sarasota. Donald Drechsler, 25 years old at the time, set out to build a company that did both things well: technicians who understood how a system should actually run, and people who understood what the customer wanted. Most shops back then were good at one or the other.

Today his son, Brian Drechsler, runs the company his father built, with the same standard: from the first phone call to the finished job, the goal is that you're glad you called.

Why we publish prices

Other contractors talk about transparency. We put the number on the page.

A "call for quote" is the industry default, and it usually means the number depends on who answers the phone. We do it differently: the price is on the board before you call, and the price we quote is the price you pay. It's a small thing that takes real trust to do, and it's the reason neighbors keep calling us instead of shopping around.
